Improving Your Game
-
Every off season the workout drills you do need to be transferable to the game. They need to be done at game speed with game focus
-
The start is what stops most players. Begin working out and schedule days and times that will be consistent
-
Focus on improving your skills in the areas of the game that happen the most.
-
Have a plan when you work out. Set goals for most drills. Record and improve each day.
- To be the best you must outwork your Talent Kevin McHale
- Your skill work-outs should include ball-handling, offensive moves, and shooting
- Improving your footwork should be a priority when working out
-
The good player plays hard when he has to, the great player plays hard when he doesn't have to
-
Playing hard not only takes physical preparation but mental preparation. Once you are in shape it is an integrity issue.
-
Players really hurt their team when they take off possessions
- Coaches will know the level of your honesty and commitment by the quaility of your effort on the court. Your personality shows up on the court. Greed, selfishness, indifference, it all shows up.
